    Abstract:
      This point coverage represents Chinook Salmon locations using 
      radio fish tracking.  The tracking survey started at Ishipishi
      Falls and concluded at the Iron Gate Dam.  The survey was conducted
      from early September through late October 1996.

      The point coverage was generated from Chinook Salmon locations recorded during a
      1996 radio tracking survey.  The fish locations were recorded using a hand-held
      GPS along with the time, date, and fish ID.  The point coverage represents the
      upstream migration of individual Salmon.
      
      The GPS points were not differentially corrected.  The points were snapped to a
      1:100K stream coverage using the arcsnap commands in Arcedit.  The "snapping"
      was supervised and the point locations were verified based on site descriptions
      when available.
      
      River miles associated with each point were added to the attribute file using a
      routed stream network from the CA Department of F & W (region1) and the
      addroutemeasure command.
