OriginatorA.A. Rich and Associates
DescriptionHabitat surveys used protocols from Bisson et al., 1982, modified by Dr. Alice Rich for use in other small streams in northern California, at a Level III for the habitat types. Surveys conducted beginning from the lower project boundary (Diablo Avenue) and proceeding upstream to the upper boundary (Grant Avenue). Areas upstream of the project area were Habitat Typed for comparison. From results of the Habitat Typing Survey, representative electrofishing stations were selected. Fish sampling was conducted using electrofishing with block nets and three or more passes, and fish were identified, weighed, and measured. A photographic record was made of all habitat types. Water temperature was monitored using a hobo temp from May 15 to June 15.
