KRIS West Marin-Sonoma: Chart Page

Area S Marin/Redwood Creek
Topic Habitat: Bolinas Lagoon Tribs Pct Instream Canopy Cover 1997-1998

Caption:  Canopy over the stream was measured at 100 meter stations along east-side Bolinas Lagoon tributaries in 1997-1998. The graph shows the minimum, median and maximum values measured for various stations in each of the tributary streams. While Wilkins Creek has almost complete (>90%) canopy in most reaches while McKinnon Creek has many open reaches. Morses Creek has 90% canopy except in one reach measured. Note that canopy cover data were not collected for Stinson Gulch and Easkoot Creek. However, it was noted through subjective ocular estimates that the lower 500 meters of Stinson Gulch and the lower 600 meters of Easkoot Creek may have less than 50% instream canopy cover. Data were collected by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
