Terraqua Inc used the Ecosystem Management Decision Support (EMDS) model and U.S. Forest Service Aquatic and Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Protocols to gauge the health of Battle Creek aquatic environments. Fifty sites were chosen randomly and various aquatic parameters measured. Terraqua provided Kier Associates with Lat/Lon information for sites so that a point coverage could be generated.

Kier Associates also used Arc View and the Spatial Analyst extension to generate  watersheds above each point for Terraqua statistical analysis.
