KRIS Big River: Chart Page

The chart on this page can not be modified, as it can in the CD version of the KRIS database. Data can be downloaded (see bottom of page).

Area Caspar Creek
Topic Climate: Caspar Creek Runoff as a Percentage of Precipitation 1978-99

Caption:  Runoff as a percentage of precipitation in the South Fork Caspar Creek was higher than in the North Fork between 1978 and 1990. In 1991 the trend reversed and the NF had greater runoff than the SF. This period of reversal coincided with 48% timber harvest in the NF coupled with the continued recovery in the SF. However, Robert Zeimer, chief research hydrologist for the USFS, reported no statistically significant change in runoff. See Info links form more information on Caspar Creek research.
