Area Caspar Creek
Topic Fish: Annual Trap Catch of Salmonid Yearlings, 1987-99

Caption:  The California Department of Fish and Game has operated a downstream migrant trap in Caspar Creek since 1987. Yearling or older smolts are the most important measure of the productivity and health of a watershed with respect to salmonids. Unfortunately, total catch is influenced by variable trap efficiency and may not provide a reliable index of overall smolt production. See Info Links for more information.
