||South Fork Big River
||Temperature: Floating Weekly Average, SF ab/below Daugherty 2000-01
||Caption: The maximum floating weekly average water temperature, or MWAT, in the South Fork Big River sub-basin above and below Daugherty Creek exceeded the fully suitable range during the summers of 2000 and 2001. Daugherty warmed the mainstem South Fork in both years. Floating weekly average temperatures resided above the fully suitable range for a large portion of the summer. The 60 degree F (15.6 C) stress threshold for coho salmon was chosen as a threshold for the North Coast Watershed Assessment Program based on literature review. Floating weekly average water temperatures mask transient peaks and the 50-60 F reference from NCWAP would be more appropriately applied to maximum daily readings.
