KRIS Garcia River: Chart Page

Area Coastal Tributaries South
Topic Temperature: FWA at Schooner Gulch, 1996-1997, 1999-2001

Caption:  The above chart plots floating weekly average temperature of upper Schooner Gulch for the years 1996-1997 and 1999-2001. Floating weekly average temperatures did not exceed 16.8 degrees during any of the five years measured, indicating that the creek is suitable for coho with regard to temperature in the reach measured. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8C. See InfoLinks for more information. Data provided by Mendocino Redwood Company. Click on Picture to see a map of the temperature monitoring stations.
