This bank armoring is to help stabilize a small tributary of Derby Creek, which flows into the upper North Fork Garcia River. Michael Maahs designed the structures for bank stabilization, and Joe Scriven and others carried out the project through the Mendocino County Resource Conservation District.

Joe Scriven of the E-Center Mendocino Fisheries Program stands in the middle of this project photo to provide scale. The arranged large wood represents efforts to stabilize banks and create scour and more complex aquatic habitat. See Picture #8 for the same location.
