KRIS Garcia River: Chart Page

Area South Fork Garcia
Topic Temperature: Min, Max, Avg of South Fork Garcia - upper, 2001

Caption:  This Chart shows the daily minimum, maximum, and average water temperature in Celsius (°C) at upper South Fork Garcia (site SFGA_UP) for the year 2001. Water temperatures were almost entirely within the optimum range for juvenile salmonids from June through October. The minimal range of the temperature reflects three factors: that this gauge is near the ground water source, within the fog belt and that the site has good canopy. The reference value of 10-15.6°C optimum temperature range for juvenile salmonid rearing is based on McCullough (1999). See InfoLinks for more information. Data were contributed by the Mendocino Redwoods Company.
