This photo shows a clear-cut unit on lower Buckeye Creek which was part of the "Power Line" THP. Lack of buffer on Class III stream course in photo is likely to have contributed sediment to Buckeye Creek. Photos courtesy of Russian River Residents Against Unsafe Logging.

Ground view of clear-cut unit on lower Buckeye Creek, which was part of the "Power Line" THP. Post timber harvest "site preparation" of burning appears to have denuded these slopes, which could lead to a short-term increase in surface erosion. Ground view of clear-cut unit on lower Buckeye Creek, which was part of the "Power Line" THP in an area near to where Pictures #2 and #3 were taken. Note check dams with charred wood which help retain soil. Photos courtesy of Russian River Residents Against Unsafe Logging.

Ground level view of Power Line Timber harvest plan after site preparation. Leave trees in the unit seem to have been shocked or killed by the heat of the site prep burn. Photos courtesy of Russian River Residents Against Unsafe Logging.

Aerial view of clear-cut unit on Little Creek, tributary of lower Buckeye Creek, along Beatty Ridge just to the east of the lower SF Gualala. Large slope failure inside timber harvest area (at right) appears to be delivering sediment to the watercourse as is a smaller slide further left in the picture.
