PurposeTo get a better understanding of the number of Gualala River steelhead and the distribution of redds. Also to devise methods of counting for long term surveys for trend monitoring.
Data Quality InformationTurbidity or high flows may hamper survey results. DeHaven notes the potential for mis-identifying lamprey redds.
Use ConstraintsData cannot be used to estimate population of adult steelhead because the study was not designed to accomplish that objective.
