KRIS Gualala : Meta Information Page

This page contains detailed information about a data set in KRIS, including where the original data reside and how to contact the sources for the data. Data sets are linked to the appropriate page by means of the Meta Identifier. Many data sets can be linked to same page by sharing the same Meta Identifier.

PurposeAnalyze where sediment is coming from in order to see what component is preventable.
Data Quality InformationGood except that lack of access to many ownerships made limited ground measurements and made the study more heavily reliant on aerial photos. CGS claims that TSD under-estimates natural sediment yield from large earthflows.
Use ConstraintsData are accurate at an order of magnitude level due to methods

TitleGualala River Watershed Technical Support Document for Sediment.
AbstractThe primary objective of the Gualala River Watershed TSD for Sediment is to identify and initially quantify sources of sediment delivery in a way that allows a relative comparison of those sources and to provide information required for non point source implementation and planning. A secondary objective of the Gualala River Watershed TSD for Sediment is to identify sediment loading allocations that, when implemented, are expected to result in the attainment of the applicable water quality standards for sediment to protect beneficial uses. The key beneficial uses of concern are associated with cold water fisheries, particularly the coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fisheries." <
