KRIS Klamath : Meta Information Page

This page contains detailed information about a data set in KRIS, including where the original data reside and how to contact the sources for the data. Data sets are linked to the appropriate page by means of the Meta Identifier. Many data sets can be linked to same page by sharing the same Meta Identifier.

Meta IdentifierLTRDFish
Type of DataDownstream migrant trap data and Chinook adult redd and carcass surveys
OriginatorSix Rivers National Forest
DescriptionFyke traps (1991-1993) and rotary screw traps (1994-2002) operated for extensive periods annually (data were extracted from annual MS Excel files, and annual reports). Trap calibration in recent years allows population estimates. Water temperature and flows recorded in some years. Spawning surveys also conducted on some tributaries (data were extracted from annual reports, there is also a separate MS Access database for each year).

Serial NameNA
PurposeSpawning use, habitat availability and juvenile production of Chinook salmon in Lower Trinity and lower South Fork Trinity tributaries
Data Quality InformationTraps efficiency may vary with flow but calibration since 1995 allows population estimation of downstream migrants. Larger steelhead juveniles may avoid the trap and may be underestimated. Spawner survey data may vary because effort depends on flows.
