Caption:  The pH is a measure of acid base conditions in water, with neutral being a value of 7, lower values representing acid conditions, and higher values basic or alkaline conditions. Klamath mainstem pH readings below Iron Gate Dam, below the Shasta River, above the Scott River and below Beaver Creek all showed their highest values during mid-summer. The highest value was 9.7 above the Scott River on July 9.
