| Caption: Trinity River spring Chinook salmon escapement has been estimated by the California Department of Fish and Game since 1978 except in 1983 and 1995, when no natural escapement estimate was generated. Only spring Chinook that enter the hatchery and are spawned are counted as hatchery returns. Natural spawning numbers may be inflated by hatchery fish which stray to spawn in the wild.
