Bank stabilization structures held during high water in January and March 1995 at Serpa Lane and riparian trees were planted in April of that year. Cages prevent beaver damage and boards act as shade cards to prevent moisture stress during summer. Photo provided by the Siskiyou RCD.

After picture at Serpa Lane taken in August 1997 shows willow trees surviving but competing with grasses and shrubs. The Scott River is just out of sight over the berm at left in the photo. Taken as part of Kier Associates (1999) Klamath Restoration Mid-Program Evaluation (see Kris Bibliography).
