This photo shows a bank restoration project on Hayfork Creek below Salt Creek on the McAlexander Ranch 10-15 years after completion. Wing deflectors caught silt and rebuilt bank. Bank at far right of picture was formerly steep cut-bank carved by Hayfork Creek. Alders and willows growing in the left of photo are growing in soil trapped behind deflectors. 6/94. Claude McAlexander noted that this portion of his earthen ditch was ruined by high flows in 1974 when Tule Creek floodwaters blew out several portions.
