LIBRARY : WQCB LAYER NAME : ROADS COVERAGE NAME : NAVROADS COVERAGE DESCRIPTION: Mass wasting sites/Aerial photographs Road coverage of the Navarro watershed was created at the Information Center for the Environment (Department of Environmental Science & Policy, UC Davis) and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, North Coast Region (RWQCB)) for the Navarro River TMDL published by EPA in December, 2000. Twelve USGS quad sheets with 1:100,000 scale County roads from Teale Data Center and 1:24,000 roads from California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection were used as a template to which roads were added or deleted by hand via aerial photographs and a stereoscope (at Calif. RWQCB). These quad sheet maps were then sent to ICE to create the coverage in ARC/INFO. The hand-drawn roads were then screen-digitized into the new coverage at ICE using rasterized images of the USGS quads as a backdrop.
