COVERAGE DESCRIPTION:	This shapefile contains locations of Mendocino Redwoods Company (MRC) temperature monitoring stations for the years 1989-2001 across their entire holdings. Data includes many watersheds, including Garcia River, Navarro River, Russian River, Big River, South Fork Eel River, Albion River, and many small coastal streams in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties.

Methods: 
The methods that MRC used to generate this spatial data are unknown, but the points all seem to line up well with 1:24,000 topo maps, so I suspect that they were generated using a GPS or hand mapped by skilled field workers.

DATA QUALITY ASSESSMENT:
Data quality is unknown, because the method MRC used the generate this coverage are unknown. The points all seem to line up well with 1:24,000 topo maps, so I suspect that they were generated using a GPS or hand mapped by skilled field workers.

  August, 2002:     Additional attribute fields (STREAM_NAM, X_COORD, Y_COORD, LONGITUDE, LATITUDE) were hard-joined to attribute table using ArcView (join, then convert to shapefile commands) from an MS Excel Spreadsheet obtained from MRC titled "SiteUTMS.xls"
