This image from the KRIS Noyo Map project shows USFS vegetation and stand types for the Mouth of the Noyo River Calwater planning watershed derived from a 1994 Landsat (see InfoLinks for more background information). The large areas of Non-Forest in the west of the CalWater is the town of Ft. Bragg, Noyo Harbor and the grassy headlands south of the mouth of the Noyo. Much of the watershed is in early seral stand types with Saplings (>5" trees), Small Trees (5-11.9" diameter) and Small/Medium Trees (12-19.9" diameter) well represented. Patches of Medium-Large Trees (20-29.9" diameter) are also dispersed throughout the mid- and upper watershed. Scale of accuracy for stands is one hectare.
