Area South Fork
Topic Fish: South Fork Trap, Outmigrant Catch by Species, 1998

Caption:  California Department of Fish and Game used a fyke net to trap fishes migrating downstream on the South Fork Noyo River in 1998 and 1999. Samples had both young of the year and yearling steelhead trout and coho salmon with steelhead being more numerous. Numbers of fish trapped cannot be construed as a fish population estimate because of unknown trap efficiency and avoidance of the trap by fish at higher flows. The catch of yearling coho includes an unknown number of hatchery fish.
