This photo shows the upper mainstem Noyo River just off Irmulco Road in March 2000. Decaying wood and roots of streamside deciduous trees form a pool. The gravel bar has suitable size for salmonid spawning but a deposit of fine sediment can also be seen in the margin downstream. Note elevated turbidity.
