This map shows the location of redds observed in the Sheepscot River watershed in spawner surveys by the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission during the years 1984-2003. Fish do not run above Sheepscot Pond to spawn. The low gradient and lack of falls or other natural impediments to migration would have allowed historical salmon access to the headwaters of the watershed, including above Sheepscot Pond. Therefore, the current distribution of Atlantic salmon in the Sheepscot River is less than that historically used by the species.  Scale = 1:114,637 .
