Caption:  The above chart illustrates how pools with depths in excess of 3 feet are rare in the Ten Mile River basin. The North Fork, Middle Fork (Clark Fork), and South Fork are large streams where most pools would be expected to be at least three feet deep under a variety of conditions. All tributaries in the Ten Mile basin have fewer than 25% pools deeper than 3 feet. Streams are ordered by basin area. According to the CDFG benchmark for pool depth, all Ten Mile tributaries except for Gulch 27 would be described as containing poor quality habitat for salmonid fish rearing (CDFG 1994).
