PurposeTo monitor salmonid smolt production from select streams. Part of a program to employ commercial salmon fishers impacted by fishery closures.
Data Quality InformationDownstream migrant trap results may under-represent some age classes of salmonids because of trap avoidance. Trap efficiencies vary with flow years which makes use of data for population trend assessment impossible.
Use ConstraintsTrap efficiencies vary with flow years which makes use of data for population trend assessment impossible. Data should not be used for calculating total production.
Supplemental InformationFyke net with live car holding boxes were used in the Ten Mile. Campbell Creek, Smith Creek, and the South Fork Ten Mile trapped. Trap efficiencies were routinely measured and used for estimation purposes.
