Caption:  The above chart illustrates how pools with depths in excess of 3 feet are rare in the North Fork Ten Mile River basin. The North Fork is a large stream where most pools would be expected to be at least three feet deep under a variety of conditions. Streams are sorted by basin area. All tributaries in the North Fork Ten Mile basin have fewer than 25% pools deeper than 3 feet. According to CDFG benchmarks for this habitat feature, all North Fork Ten Mile tributaries would be described as providing only poor quality habitat for salmonid fish rearing (CDFG 1994).
