KRIS Big River: Chart Page

The chart on this page can not be modified, as it can in the CD version of the KRIS database. Data can be downloaded (see bottom of page).

Area Lower Big River
Topic Temperature: Floating Weekly Average, Little NF Big River sites, 2000

Caption:  The maximum floating weekly average water temperature, or MWAT, at sites 541, 542, and 545 did not exceeded the fully suitable range in 2000. These sites represent headwater locations and a small tributary of the Little North Fork Big River. Click on Picture for a map of locations. The 60 degree F (15.6 C) stress threshold for coho salmon was chosen as a threshold for the North Coast Watershed Assessment Program based on literature review. Floating weekly average water temperatures mask transient peaks and the 50-60 F reference from NCWAP would be more appropriately applied to maximum daily readings. See Info Links for more information. Data provided by the Jackson State Demonstration Forest.
