Caption:  The chart above shows the results of an August 2002 Little South Fork Garcia as the frequency of pool depths. Pools deeper than three feet are preferred habitat for coho juveniles and older age steelhead, but none were found in this survey. Of the 23 pools measured, 18 were one to two feet deep, while five were between two and three feet. This reflects impaired conditions for salmonid rearing. Data collected by Elizabeth Earthman and Jennifer Presnell of the Americorp Stewards program under the direction of the California Department of Fish and Game.
