Area Buckeye Creek
Topic Sediment: D50 Values for Buckeye Creek Basin

Caption:  The Chart above shows the median particle size distribution of the streambed at several locations in Buckeye Creek. This chart shows a D50 range in light blue which overlaps with the Knopp (1993) 95% confidence interval for median particle size of control streams or those that had at least 40 years rest from logging. All values fall outside this range. Small average particle size can contribute to bedload mobility, which decreases salmonid spawning success. Data provided by Gualala Redwoods Inc. as part of timber harvest plans. See Info Links for more information and links to bibliographic resources.
