KRIS Gualala : Chart Page

Area South Fork
Topic Temperature: Min, Max and Average in Lower Mainstem 2000

Caption:  This chart shows minimum, maximum, and average daily temperature for the lower main Gualala River below the North Fork and South Fork convergence in 2000. Minimum temperatures exceeded the optimum range for salmonid growth from June through September. This is well outside the range known to support coho and in fact shows very stressful conditions for juvenile steelhead. Daily temperature variation exceeded 6 degrees Celsius for most of the summer period. Data collected by Gualala River Watershed Council. See Info Links for more information.
