GRWC temperature gauge 5305 is just downstream of the convergence of the North Fork and South Fork. The temperature exceeded 16.8 C MWAT, which is the temperature above which coho are not found. This indicates that stressful temperatures may have extended into the estuary which is recognized as a substantial producer of juvenile steelhead (Brown, 1986).
