KRIS Humboldt Bay: Chart Page

Area Freshwater Creek-Ryan Slough
Topic Aquatic Insects: EPT Main Freshwater Above SF 1994-1998
Caption:  This chart shows the number of taxa of mayflies, stonefiles and caddisflies present at the sampling station on Freshwater Creek above the South Fork from the years 1994-96 and 1997-98, which is also the EPT Index. Reference lines shown are those taken from Harrington (1999) in characterizing the health of aquatic communities, where more than 25 species indicate high quality aquatic habitat while a community with fewer than 12 taxa indicates impairment. See Picture for some watershed maps with PL Monitoring locations. Click on Info Links for more information about the use of aquatic invertebrates for gauging aquatic health.
