Serial NameHabitat Typing
PurposeTo document current habitat conditions, and recommend options for the potential enhancement of habitat.
Data Quality InformationHabitat typing is a good inventory tool for salmon and steelhead habitat, there are subjective elements to how different units are categorized (i.e. a series of discrete pool and run habitats or lumping into step-run)
Use ConstraintsOnly measures like pool depth can be quantitatively used for measuring trends because observer bias cause more variability in results than actual changes in habitat frequency.
