KRIS Humboldt Bay: Map Page

Area Salmon Creek
Topic Map: D. EPA Landcover/Landuse, Salmon Creek Sub-basin

This is a map of the EPA Landcover/Landuse in the Salmon Creek sub-basin, based on a 1992 Landsat TM satellite image. Flat areas are mostly agriculture (orange) and residential-commercial. Coniferous forest (green) and mixed forest (lighter green) dominate the slopes, although large patches of shrubs and grassland are now evident in timber harvested areas that were once totally coniferous forest. These large grassland and herbaceous patches are indicative of intensive deforestation.
