Caption: This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperatures at lower Humbug Creek (site 123) for the years 1998-1999 and 2002. The maximum floating weekly average water temperature (MWAT) of Humbug Creek appeared optimal for all salmonids, including coho salmon juveniles in 1997 and 1998. Although it was over coho salmon suitability levels (MWAT of 16.8 C), it would still have supported steelhead juveniles in 1999. Temperature data come from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Klamath River and its tributaries by the Klamath National Forest and the Karuk Tribe.
