Caption:  The chart shows the floating weekly average water temperature in Celsius (°C) of lower Elk Creek (site 87-1) for the years 1992-1994. Floating weekly average water temperatures did not exceed 16.8°C in any of the three years measured, so lower Elk Creek is not temperature limited with regard to sustaining coho salmon. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C. See Info Links for more information.
