Area Estuary
Topic Fish: Beach Seining Steelhead by Fork Length Lower Estuary 1996-97

Caption:  This chart shows length frequency of all steelhead captured between May 21, 1996 and December 3, 1997 in the Lower Navarro River Estuary. Chart data are sorted by totals for each fork length in millimeters. Note that the lower estuary samples have a preponderance of larger juveniles when compared to the other sampling sites (see next Topics), with the most abundant size class 166-170 mm and the largest fish up to 240 mm. This reflects the fact that they are staging here for ocean entry. Bars are color-coded by approximate age class according to size: Light green = 0+, dark green = 1+, light blue = 2+, and dark blue = 3+. Data were taken from Table 7 in the Navarro Estuary Report (Cannata, 1998). See Info Links for more information.
