Type of DataRoad restoration projects in the Navarro River watershed
OriginatorMendocino County Resource Conservation District
DescriptionData for Mill Creek were received by KRIS, but data for other areas were not. Potential and existing sediment source sites in Mill Creek were inventoried. These included stream crossings, gullies below ditch relief culverts and long sections of uncontrolled road and ditch surface runoff. The volume of potential sediment erosion and percentage delivered to the stream system was estimated for each site and entered into an Access database. A GIS map of the sediment source sites was also created, but not shared with KRIS in electronic format. Surveys were conducted by Pacific Watershed Associates, under contract with the MCRCD. Data for other areas that were not received by KRIS in time for inclusion include the following : 1) a list by Patty Madigan (RCD staff in Anderson Valley) of the EQIP projects. 2) Before and after photos of restoration, with descriptions of the projects, are available. 3) Rixanne Wehren was going through the RCD photos and documenting restoration projects.
