Topic	Fish: Hatchery Releases of Steelhead 1981-1995

 

Caption:  This chart shows the number of steelhead released into the Russian River from Warm Springs and Coyote Valley Hatcheries. Data were taken from Steiner (1996) who notes that records were not always complete. Coyote Valley Hatchery was in operation for three years prior to 1995 and typically receives fish back from Warm Springs rearing facility for imprinting before release. Steiner also describes other sources, some dating back to 1870, which altogether total at least 30 million juvenile steelhead planted in the Russian River. See Info Links for more information.
