Area Basin-wide/Regional
Topic Sediment: Annual Runoff vs Suspended Sediment - Russian @ Guerneville

Caption:  This chart show the relationship between annual streamflow (acre-feet) and annual suspended sediment load (tons/year) in the Russian River at Guerneville (USGS flow gage #11467000) The three outlier points are for the year of 1965-1967 and were originally from Ritter and Brown (1971). All other data suggest a linear relationship. Collins and Dunne (1990) have reported that the bedload is approximately 5% of the suspended load. Sediment data come from Swanson and Associates (1994) and were originally reported by the US Geological Survey. See InfoLinks for more information.
