KRIS Russian River: Chart Page

Area Guerneville
Topic WQ: Estuary 1996 Hydrolab Temp, Salinity and DO Station #1 Sept-Nov

Caption:  According to a Hydrolab automated data probe placed on the bottom at Station #1 near the mouth of the Russian River in September 1996, dissolved oxygen had dropped below 5 ppm before breaching of the mouth, which is stressful for salmonids. Note that dissolved oxygen rose and water temperature dropped at this station as the mouth was breached on September 27, 1996. Salinity was near full strength ocean water. See Picture tab for a map of monitoring locations. Data are from Merritt Smith Consulting (1997) and Sonoma County. See InfoLinks for more information.
