The boulders in the near ground of this photo are part of the foundation for the recreational swimming dam at Healdsburg's Memorial Park. This seasonal dam has been controversial because of problems with fish passage. In response, Sonoma County acquired funds to build a fish ladder to facilitate fish migration at all flows. The boom downstream is the first step in setting up a coffer dam and beginning construction. Photo provided courtesy of the Sonoma County Water Agency.
