Description	Department of Fish and Game conducted beach seining surveys in the Russian River at 32 stations in July 1954 and 1955, 14 stations in 1956, five stations in 1968, two reaches in 1984, and one reach in 1995. Survey methods were not consistent but show a fish community dominated by warmwater species with very few salmonids. A survey between Duncan Mills and Jenner in May, 1956 was the only survey that found coho (8 fish between 4.6 and 4.9 inches). Surveys were also made in 1948 but observations were anecdotal and totals for species were not documented.
