Area Mark West
Topic Temperature: Floating Weekly Avg. at Mark West Cr.-Lwr (MW1), 1997-98

Caption:  This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperature at lower Mark West Creek (site MW1) for the years 1997-1998. Floating weekly average water temperatures exceeded 16.8°C, during nearly every summer day both years. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C. See InfoLinks for more information. Temperature data comes from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Russian River and its tributaries by the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA).
