This 1951 photograph shows the installation of a fish trap on Big Sulphur Creek just above its mouth. According to a document that accompanied this photograph, workers included Garth Murphy, Herbert Pintler, Warden Harley Groves, and Garth Murphy. The trap was an experiment to see if pike minnow could be kept out of steelhead nursery areas. The photograph was taken on the March 31, 1951. The image was scanned from a photograph at the archives of the California Department of Fish and Game regional office in Yountville, California.
