Caption: This chart shows floating weekly maximum temperatures in the lower Weaver Brook for the year 2001. Temperatures were within the optimal feeding range for Atlantic salmon for the entire summer. The water temperature fluctuation showed a maximum daily range of just 2.3 C and 9 C throughout the whole season from June 10 to mid-September. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed 22.5 C. Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
