KRIS Battle Creek: Chart Page

Area Basin-wide
Topic Climate: Snowfall - Volta Power House - Annual Totals 1949-2002

Caption:  This chart shows annual snowfall accumulation (inches) at Volta Powerhouse in the North Fork Battle Creek drainage from 1949-2002, which was arrived at by totaling all monthly snowfall data for years from July-June. These totals do not reflect snow melt events, such as the January 1997 rain-on-snow storm, so high total may or may not represent high spring and summer base flows. Late season accumulation data (April) may be more representative of stored water and subsequent runoff, although much of the base flows in Battle Creek are driven by springs and ground water input. Data from the Western Regional Climate Center. See Info Links for more information.
