Topic Temperature: Average at Eagle Canyon Dam 1988-89, 1995-97
Caption:  This graph shows daily average water temperatures at Eagle Canyon Diversion Dam for 1988, 1989, 1995, 1996 and 1997 (ie. 88 = 1988). Conditions at Eagle Canyon Dam were suitable for winter run chinook eggs (less than 62F from June 15 to June 30) in all years measured. Temperatures were within the optimum range for holding adult spring chinook during the period July 1 to September 14, remaining well below 66.2F. Water temperatures for incubating spring-run chinook eggs (September 15 - September 30) were within optimal ranges in all years because they did not rise above 62 F. Improved flow conditions are likely to make this reach even more suitable for winter chinook. See Info Links for more information.
