Tour: Restoration Tebbutt's Vegetated Hard Points 2001 |

Click here to display a larger version (242K).This picture was taken looking upstream on Anderson Creek in 2001 with hidden vegetated hard points all along the left side of the channel with deep-planted cottonwoods sticking up above the thickets of streams side alder and willow. The cottonwoods at right were those which were uprooted in 1997-1998 and re-planted on the opposite bank. The pool scoured off the massive hard point at left is nearly six feet deep. This pool held juvenile steelhead over summer, and even had an adult run back through October in 2001. Pools this deep may get ground water feeds from under the gravel bar. Photo by Chris Tebbutt.
